2020 Sure Ain’t Over Yet

For anyone paying attention to the upcoming 2020 election, it is clear that this one will be one of the most contentious elections in modern American history. No matter which side wins, the losing side will push forth evidence to suggest that the election was stolen.

Furthermore, the C-word virus has shown us (again) that in a state of emergency, our basic freedoms and rights are able to be suspended for “the greater good”. We handed over our freedom of mobility in order to flatten the curve, and even though the curve is effectively flattened across the United States, many jurisdictions have yet to give those freedoms back.

Business has been crushed, unemployment is higher than at any other moment in US history, and many Americans have been incentivized by government stimulus checks NOT to return to work. All this because of tyrannical government overreach — not a viral flu.

It begs the question: what will we be willing to give up during the next state of emergency? When another crisis hits America’s heartland how will our overlords react in an effort to “keep us safe”? What happens if we wake up on November 4th and the the next president of the United States is unknown or unclear or shrouded in doubt?

2020 sure ain’t over yet.
